As we welcome in the New Year and look forward to a fresh season full of adventures and prosperity, we consequently reflect back on our highlights from the year. 2018 has certainly been busy, as we on-boarded more talent, brands and perks than ever before. We have also assisted in producing over 32 events, from our global takeover at Fashion Week SS19, various magazine launches, art exhibitions, bespoke dinners and even VIP access to the Cannes Film Festival. Model Village was even announced as the Uk Social Media App of the year, again and has been shortlisted in the UK Blog Awards! We couldn’t have done all this without you, so please join us as we reflect on our 2018 event highlights…
GET FIRED UP WENT WORLDWIDE
Ahead of the SS19 shows, we provided the MVBabes with a global edition of Get Fired Up, our exclusive fitness bootcamp, which ensured that each model was physically and mentally prepared for their next castings, fittings and shows in NYC, London, Milan and Paris.
The bootcamp ensured that as each model travelled across the fashion capitals, they could rely on Model Village to provide an intense workout led by world-leading professionals all while discovering our brand partners Gymshark, Halo, Tenzing and Squirrel Sisters.
Across each city, the MVBabes experienced a range of different workouts for a complete programme, consisting of HIIT, core work, strength training, boxing and meditation. These unique experiences ensured that each model found something that suited their preference and provided them with a full-body workout tailored specifically for their needs.
WE HOSTED OUR DEBUT, GLOBAL EDITION OF THE LOUNGE AT FASHION WEEK
Across London, Milan, Paris and Brazil we ensured that every member was catered for during The Lounge at Fashion Week.
Here is a quick breakdown of our highlights from this season during the Spring Summer 2019 shows…
OUR BIGGEST EVER SURVIVAL KITS IN LONDON
Each MVBabe left the Lounge fully refreshed, refuelled, pampered and equipped with the must-have accessory of the fashion month – The MV Survival Kits.
These necessities included everything from food, skincare, beauty products, snacks and energy drinks from brands such as Nails Inc, Filabe, Tangle Teezer, Bounce and Tenzing. The models could then capture their content using their new LuMee phone cases, which were also included in the Survival Kits amongst other exciting surprises.
MOUTHWATERING, VEGAN FOOD IN MILAN
The MVBabes attended The Lounge at #MFW to experience foodie heaven with delicious, colourful and vegan-friendly lunch goals courtesy of Flower Burger.
AN ICONIC FASHION WARDROBE IN PARIS
This year we joined forces with not just one, but two brands to bring the MVBabes an ultimate fashion experience at The Lounge at #PFW SS19.
The fashion wardrobe aims to inspire fashion models so they can ultimately discover unique brands, whilst creating beautiful, engaging content on Instagram.
During SS19 we joined forces with Baboosha Paris who are committed to the highest sourcing standards, specialising in Suri Alpaca Fur Slippers.
We also linked up with the street style brand, You Don’t Want This Life who are known for their model-approved clothing.
THE LOUNGE LAUNCHED IN BRAZIL
For our debut launch in Brazil, we teamed up with an array of premium brands to provide our members with an array of luxury experiences, as we celebrated at the VN Stay (By Vitacon) a popular HubSpot, known for promoting urban mobility and high-quality experience.
The talent discovered an array of various perks and exclusive privileges which even included a games room with Sniper, who are Brazil’s biggest airsoft and entertainment franchise!
ROOFTOP MOMENTS WITH CHANEL AT THE COCO GAME CLUB
During PFW Men’s we also collaborated with the luxury fashion and beauty pioneer Chanel, during their Parisian event; The Coco Games Club, held on the rooftop of Galeries Lafayette.
A selected number of MVModelMemebrs received exclusive access to attend the event, witnessing an overwhelming iconic rooftop scene, which offered an exceptional makeup-experience, an exclusive concert and arcade-inspired games.
The elite guest list included prestigious influencers, including androgynous beauty Willy Cartier, Korean artist Sang Woo Kim, Italian designer Giotto Calendoli, LA it-girl Roxy Horner, British actress Wallis Day & international singer Jake Bugg amongst other notable figures who danced the night away, producing iconic content and amplifying the event across their Instagram feed and stories.
A COLOURFUL COCKTAIL MASTERCLASS WITH SASSY CIDER
Over the summer, we helped created a bespoke activation that would engage and educate models around Sassy, a Parisian 100% natural drinks brand which is also gluten-free and known for offering an extremely refreshing and intensely fruity taste. In order to amplify their delicious creations, we collaborated with Sassy to create a cocktail masterclass, held at the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel London.
During the class, each MVBabe produced their own beautiful and delicious cocktail, infused with the Sassy drink, to celebrate the vibrancy of the brand. The MVBabes then shared their experience through Instagram stories and posts, organically showing how Sassy can be enjoyed, especially during the height and heat of summer.
A VIP EXPERIENCE FOR SELECTED MEMBERS DURING THE CANNES FILM FESTIVAL
What happens when a group of MVBabes get whisked away with Model Village to attend Cannes Film Festival 2018? Luxury treatments, helicopter rides, yacht events, shoots in the sun with photographer Ian Lim and exclusive passes to red carpet soirées.
During their trip, the MVBabes were surprised with a special invitation to attend the De Grisogono 25th anniversary party which was hosted at Hotel du Cap-Eden Roc and is an annual, exclusive VIP event which takes place during Cannes Film Festival.
The whole evening was so fun, it was all so beautiful, with amazing decorations and iconic faces dressed in the most gorgeous gowns, it was such a striking experience!
– Karla Kuhlm The trip was then completed during an evening with Amfar, where the MVBabes met iconic models such as Hailey Baldwin, Elisa Hosk, Karlie Kloss and more. After the event there was also an auction, which featured a stunning array of luxury dresses made for the charity, helping to raise over $1.7 million, the perfect cause for celebration which followed during the exclusive after-party.
5 MVBABES WALKED IN THE VICTORIA SECRET SHOW
The extravaganza event has become one of the most recognised runways in the world, as the Victoria Secret Fashion Show has quickly evolved into a world-class spectacular.
This year the show returned to its original location of New York City, after years in cities like London, Paris, and Shanghai with more MVBabes walking in the show than ever-before.
Ahhhhh the whole thing was a dream and it so much more than I have ever imagined!!! I can’t thank @victoriassecret enough for giving me the opportunity to walk in this year’s fashion show!!
WE WON THE SOCIAL MEDIA APP OF THE YEAR AWARD… AGAIN!
We are incredibly proud to confirm that we have been announced as the Uk Social Media App of the year, for the second time!
In 2018, we have had an especially strong focus on the continuum build of our both our app and brand-dashboard, as we aim to create a unique experience for our members and brands through our bespoke technology.
We are constantly working hard to provide a distinctive user-face for our community, as our members discover luxury perks and privileges in their local city and are quickly becoming powerful content creators for premium brands.
As a result, this award is an amazing acknowledgement which reflects our growing tech-advancements and we would like to thank everyone again who has supported our journey.
