A BIT ABOUT CHRISTIAN:
HOW OLD ARE YOU?
WHO IS YOUR MOTHER AGENCY?
WHERE IS YOUR HOMETOWN?
WHAT IS ONE FUN FACT ABOUT YOURSELF?
I can’t sleep when my room is completely dark, and I’m half black and half Asian.
MV ASKS: WHEN AND WHERE DID YOU FIRST GET SCOUTED?
I was first scouted 5 years ago in Paris, when I was on the way to work at Abercrombie and Fitch. One agent kindly gave me his card and I thought I would visit the agency and give it a try!
MV ASKS: HOW WOULD YOU DEFINE YOURSELF IN 3 WORDS?
When I first started a lot of people told me I would never be a model, because I was too different, too mixed race, which was weird apparently at the time, or I was too big or not big enough. However, despite this negativity, I never listened to them, even though it was hard, I tried my best to stay positive and always believe in myself and my career potential.
In London, I was looking for an agency for a while, I just happened to walk into Select and one woman started talking to me, after 10 mins she asked me to take off my shirt and walk topless. After that she introduced herself and turned out she was the owner of Select, her name is Tandy Anderson. She then said how she wanted to sign me and after that moment my life completely changed!
I will always help someone if they need my help.
MV ASKS: TELL US ABOUT YOUR CATWALK EXPERIENCE! WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR MOST MEMORABLE SHOW?
When I just moved to London, I opened the show for Astrid Anderson, I was so nervous, especially since I was the first model to walk, the feeling was insane and it will always be something I remember. However, I also will never forget walking for Dolce & Gabbana, the show was utterly amazing and the vibe was awesome. All my friends were also involved in that particular show so it was something I could never forget!
MV ASKS: WHAT IS YOUR CATWALK ADVICE FOR MALE MODELS THIS SEASON?
I’m not the best for giving advice but my main tip would be to always:
Stay true to yourself, don’t be scared and show your personality when your walking.
MV ASKS: WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO CREATE YOUR OWN YOUTUBE CHANNEL?
Basically, I was always watching Vlogs on Youtube which I enjoyed, but found a lot of them where focused on a female audience, so naturally, I decided to create my own channel, whereas a male model, I could better express my thoughts and share my stories.
I want to use my social media platforms to show not just the good, but the real moments of this crazy career, allowing people who watch to gain a true insight into the industry, at least from my perspective.
My social media is a powerful tool which allows me to stay connected with my community, connecting my real life adventures to show the real me, and not just a role that I play.
MV ASKS: WHAT ARE YOUR TOP TIPS FOR ESTABLISHING A STRONG SOCIAL MEDIA IDENTITY IN 2019?
Don’t necessarily try to find a photo that will make the most likes, but rather post something you really like, because you like it. People will then follow you and like who you are because of this authenticity.
MV ASKS: WHO INSPIRES YOU CAREER JOURNEY AND WHY?
My little brother. He is 10 years old and I want to give him the best education he can have, I want to make sure he will have a good future and live life to the full.
MV ASKS: WHAT IS YOUR LIFE QUOTE/ MANTRA?
If you always put a limit on everything you do, physical or otherwise. It will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, but you must not stay there, you must got behind them.
MV ASKS: WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT MODEL VILLAGE AND WHY WOULD YOU ADVICE OTHERS ALSO JOIN OUR COMMUNITY?
Don’t laugh but I generally love Quentin, who is the Talent Director and Co-founder of Model Village. We always have the best conversations, which is so important to me since I only work with people that I trust.
He always shares the best advice and talks about this awesome project and I really love it. Especially since we can both be approached by so many people, it’s important you find someone serious and genuine like Quentin!
Then, in terms of the app, I think it’s just as genius, we can meet other models, have a great time, enjoy food and more for free… I really would recommend this app and community for any model in town to use, it’s something totally unique.
