Monday night’s Fashion Awards saw models, celebrities and even the royal family join together to celebrate the international fashion scene and accomplishments achieved within the past 12 months.
Iconic families gathered at the event, which even included a rare outing from the Beckham’s, who celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary next year and a heart-breaking mother-daughter moment on the red carpet with Cindy Crawford and Kaia Gerber.
Continue reading to find out the event highlights, who won which awards and what happened at the exclusive after-party, held at the Royal Albert Hall.
MODEL OF THE YAER: KAIA GERBER
Kaia Gerber, daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford, has been crowned Model of the Year at the annual Fashion Awards 2018, making her the youngest model to ever be honoured with the award.
This is indeed an incredible achievement for the teenager, who only started modelling last September, just four days after her sixteenth birthday.
The other nominees for the award include iconic talent such as Bella Hadid, Adut Akech, Adwoa Aboah (last years winer) and Winnie Harlow. Previously the award has been won by the likes of Kate Moss, Lily Cole, Jourdan Dunn and Cara Delevingne.
BRAND OF THE YEAR: GUCCI
The evening celebrated fifteen awards, 10 of which were voted for by the global panel, and included two awards for Gucci, with the Italian fashion house scooping Brand of the Year, as well as the Business Leader accolade presented to Marco Bizzarri, president and chief executive of the designer label.
The other nominees for the award included brand such as Balenciaga, Burberry, Gucci, Off-White and Prada.
MEGAN MARKLE MAKES A SUPRISE APPERANCE
The former actress was met with cheers as she took to the stage, saying to the audience:
It is such a pleasure to be here, celebrating British fashion and British fashion designers in my new home of the UK.
Keller became a household name back in May when Meghan walked up the steps of St George’s Chapel wearing a sleek boat neck Givenchy gown by the designer to wed Prince Harry.
WHAT HAPPENED BACKSTAGE AFTER PARTY?
After the awards at the Royal Albert Hall – which had been decorated like a giant disco ball – guests including Victoria Beckham, Jourdan Dunn, Ellie Goulding and Saoirse Ronan mingled around the dinner tables and backstage.
Later that night guests decamped to The Scotch of St James for a party hosted by Jefferson Hack and Katie Grand to honour the night’s star guest, Miuccia Prada.
