HOW OLD ARE YOU?
I’m 22. Turning 23 in June!
WHERE IS YOUR HOMETOWN?
I was born in Pakistan and lived there for 8 years and then moved to Moscow for another 8 years. So, I generally consider both countries my hometown!
WHO IS YOUR MOTHER AGENCY?
My manager Marina Masowietsky who is my mother ‘agent.’
WHAT IS ONE FUN FACT ABOUT YOURSELF?
I know 4 languages – Russian, English, Urdu and Arabic. I am also currently learning German right now!
Q.1 WHEN & WHERE DID YOU FIRST GET SCOUTED?
My first modelling experience was in Pakistan when I was 7.
I was in a shopping mall with my mom and the owner of a well-known kids brand “Bumble & bumble” approached us and asked if I wanted to be in their upcoming campaign.
That’s where it all started! Since then, until I was 20, I modelled only in my free time as I was focused on my studies, and couldn’t pursue both. After I graduated, I decided to pursue it only if I would get signed in Los Angeles, and when I got offered the contracts from several agencies, I went in full-time.
Q.2 WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO CREATE YOUR SKINCARE SECRETS VIDEO?
Firstly, every single person at work, outside of work and on Instagram was always asking me how I have such good skin.
It took me years to find my routine and the products that worked with my skin the best.
I didn’t know anything about this until I fully dived into modelling. I love sharing my life experiences and never want to hide anything from my followers. Whatever I discovered and love was all put into that video.
And more to come!
Q.3 WHAT ARE YOUR TOP TIPS FOR INSTAGRAM?
I’m still figuring them out with Instagram changing their algorithm so much, but honestly, it’s like a full-time job, to keep up with it and always keep my profile on point and updated!
However, with that being said my general top tips are:
1) Keep consistent with your content- post at least once a day
2) Engage with your followers- like and comment back
3) Share your day-to-day life on your stories, BUT don’t post too much of them!
4) Have a purpose for your page & content. Find out what exactly you aim to achieve when people go on your profile. ask yourself “Why should they follow my page?”
Q.4 TELL US ABOUT YOUR JOURNEY WITH MCMMGMT?
She is the one and only manager that I work with!
A funny story is that when I was graduating university in New York, I was dreaming of pursuing the modelling career but didn’t know where to start. She was in LA at that time, and during an event, my friend accidentally met her and showed her my picture and mentioned my dream. Marina straight away asked for my contact and told me to come to LA as soon as possible.
Soon, after my graduation, I went to LA for 2 weeks initially to see how it would go and believe it or not, it went better than I expected and I stayed there without going back! My friend sent all my clothes from New York and I’ve been working out here and over the world ever since.
Q.5 WHAT DO YOU THINK IS ONE MISCONCEPTION ABOUT THE MODELLING INDUSTRY WHICH YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP CHANGE?
That image and idea of the ‘perfect model.’ The world has 7.6 billion people. Everyone was born unique- different height, different size, different color, and different race. If you are ambitious enough to fight for a place in this industry and work hard, you can make it! The industry is slowly changing towards this, and I am happy about that. It is not an easy, nor glamorous job at all, it requires a lot of work, both, mentally and physically.
Q.6 WHAT IS YOUR DAILY WORKOUT ROUTINE?
Every day is a different workout for a different part of the body.
I usually do a warm up for 10-15 minutes- speed walking on an incline, jumping jacks with a resistance band and stretching.
I’d say 3 times a week its legs and butt and abs the last 25 mins and 2 times a week its upper body (chest, arms, shoulders, and back), followed by an ab routine in the end.
All of my exercises in detail can be seen on my Instagram and IGTV.
I, of course, have those weeks when I don’t work out as much because I’m too tired with work or am travelling a lot. Stay consistent and motivated but don’t pressure yourself. Listen to your body!
Q.7 DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER SKILLS OUTSIDE MODELLING AND ACTING?
I started travelling more these past years outside of modelling to really take in all the countries I visit and enjoy it. I’m definitely taking more time off for myself to enjoy this.
My talents? Learning languages 🙂 Currently my hobby is the full investment in the German language. It’s a challenging language, but I’m going to tackle it for 200%!
Q.8 WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR MOST MEMORABLE JOB TO DATE AND WHY?
Ohh, this is a tough question because every job I have done has been so memorable and different in its own way.
The job that I will never ever forget though because it was a totally different experience and what really kick-started off my Instagram rise was the music video I shot. “Escapate Conmigo” by Ozuna and Wisin, shot by Jessy Terrero.
3 days with such inspiring and talented people in Miami was just amazing. I fell in love with the Spanish community- the people, the music and of course my loyal and supportive fans that have been there for me since day 1!
Q.9 DESCRIBE YOUR OFF-DUTY LOOK FOR SPRING…
I’m currently loving the denim on denim look. My favourite would be nice fitting jeans with a leather bootie, a crop top, which would be of light colour and a denim jacket. All this paired with a cute bag, bold colour belt and accessories.
My style is often chic and sexy but also comfortable, as I love being active and walking a lot, so a comfortable shoe is a must!
Q.10 WHAT IS YOUR LIFE MANTRA?
Great things that are worth it take time.
Q.11 WHAT DO YOU LOVE THE MOST ABOUT TALENT VILLAGE AND WHY WOULD YOU ADVICE OTHERS JOIN OUR COMMUNITY?
It’s so great in terms of providing you with some industry insight and helping creatives, like models collaborate with great brands, travel around the world and connect to great people who share the same journey and experience like you.
